Values Development / Review
Organizations can accelerate and the achievement of their Strategic Plans by developing a culture that is harmonious with the desired future state (Vision or Goals) of the Plan. One of the best ways to promote harmony between the Vision / Goals and the Culture of an organization is through the selection and use of Values. And yet, despite this important influence, Values may be the most frequently overlooked or underdeveloped component of a strategic plan.
For this reason, Leadership should take a very proactive and overt approach to values, selecting them based on how well they relate to Vision / Goals and then “hard-wiring” them into the organization by integrating them into key employee practices and processes, including employee orientation, performance reviews, and talent development plans.
